I was back in Sydney last week. This sunset was a bit more spectacular than the last one I witnessed from this location. Alas they had the area gated off to get out to where the rocks are, so the foreground is limited to some still water from the long exposure.
From Berkeley Pier. Even in its current incarnation, it's a very long pier. Makes for a cool forground as it mirrors the horizon and provides a nice leading line to the barely visible Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. This was a great sunset. Katie and I had a blast here. HDR handheld with my #x100s.
From the Walnut Festival in Walnut Creek, CA. I am very fond of the Walnut Festival, not because its especially great, but it was the first real outing we had as a family after coming to California last year. Its a harbinger of fall, and hopefully much better weather for photography.
From Berkeley Pier. I've read the old pier extended a mile and a half into the bay, but the current one only goes about a half a mile. You can see the remains of the old pier through the gap in the slats at the end of the current pier, which makes for a really nice foreground for a sunset.
